Alex in Year 12 has been successful in auditioning for the Youth Musical Theatre (YMT) in London. She will be a member of the cast for the production of 'A Winter's Tale', which will be performed on Thursday 30th August to the 2nd of September 2018 at the Rose Theatre. The play is "an interpretation of the well-known play 'A Winter's Tale' by William Shakespeare. Two worlds collide into one happy resolution. Paranoia and power unfolds into a parable for the redemptive gift of youth and the potential they have to make the world a better place." Over 1,000 people between the ages of 11-21 auditioned from all over the UK and Ireland. Alex will be starting rehearsals at the beginning of August leading up to the performance dates.
Youth Musical Theatre (YMT) is a musical theatre company that speacialises in creating brand new music theatre, and have trained many notable alumni since 2003. Such people include Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith (both well-known pop singers), Antony Hansen (currently in 'Les Miserables' in the West End), Freya Wilson ('The King's Speech, 'Jane Eyre', and 'Mr Selfridge') to name a few. Since 2003, the company have also created over 60 brand new musicals and pride themselves on working with some of the most exciting and respected theatre practitioners in the industry.
